Acupuncture Treatments

Acupuncture Treatments help you to live a longer, healthier, and happier life.

Acupuncture helps to relax the body.  Studies have shown that endorphin production is increased during treatments, and Dr. Megan Marco refers to this time as the time that your "clean up crews come in and do tissue repair."   Many patients feel so relaxed during their treatments that they drift off to sleep.

Oriental Medicine is holistic medicine and is based on evaluating the person as a whole –- this includes looking at all aspects of your body, mind, and spirit.  The body consists of what is physically going on for you -- and you may have a Western diagnosis/diagnoses to go along with this.  The mind is any stresses or emotions that are coming up.  The spirit is your passion for life -- we want to revitalize the sparkle in your eye!

Acupuncture is one of the many healing modalities of Oriental Medicine, and is highly effective for treating a long list of health problems and concerns.

The Philosophy behind Acupuncture is that in Chinese Medicine, energy is referred to as Qi (pronounced chee).   Over the centuries, Oriental Medicine doctors have mapped out the flow of Qi in the body in what are called channels, pathways, or meridians.  Health is maintained when Qi flows smoothly and freely through these channels.  When there are blockages in the flow of Qi, health is disrupted, and dis-ease often results. Acupuncture helps to unblock the Qi from where it might be stuck, balancing the Qi by promoting its smooth and free flow to all of the organs, muscles, tendons, and ligaments.

Acupuncture points have specific balancing effects. These points are carefully selected for each treatment to bring the body back to a balanced state.  Treatments are individualized for each patient's needs.  Acupuncture and massage help to relax the body, and studies have shown that they release endorphins, decrease pain and inflammation, thereby bringing about healing in the body.

The best way to learn more about Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine is to come in for an appointment.  Dr. Marco looks forward to meeting and helping you.

Come Together

Couples, families, and children all can benefit from acupuncture and bodywork.  We enjoy treating people of all ages.

Acupuncture is a wonderful way to start or end a day, or a break in the middle!

When coming down with a cold, both child and parent benefit greatly from being treated at the same time.  Children, especially those with allergies or growing muscles and bones, greatly enjoy treatments, and Dr. Marco has been treating her son with Acupuncture and massage for asthma, colds, and growing pains since he was an infant -- he rarely has any asthma now.   Pregnancy is a key time for treatments, to help with relaxation and baby's development.

You don't need to have anything wrong to benefit from Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine -- because your body and organs are always working, your Acupuncture treatment is a time for you to bring your body in for a tune-up.

We have found the Fountain of Youth!  And it is Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.  It is time for you to live a longer, healthier and happier life.
