Dr. Marco is the Founder and Director of Stonington Natural Health Center.  Dr. Marco became interested in Acupuncture due to her background in psychobiology and the mind-body connection.  She brings her expertise to us from the prestigious Oregon College of Oriental Medicine, where she received a Masters in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine after earning her Bachelors Degree in Neuroscience from the distinguished Bowdoin College.

As a 2005 graduate at Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy at the Groton Campus (and a four-year assistant at the same school), Glenn Nicholson's education coupled with his knowledge and skills, can be of great benefit to those seeking therapeutic massage.

Glenn’s academic background, massage experience, and professional development have allowed him to grow in many capacities.  His areas of expertise are sports massage, deep tissue, and trigger point therapies.  Swedish massage and acupressure techniques are often integrated into his massage sessions as well.  Glenn has excellent interpersonal communication skills with each client to maximize potential for healthy outcomes and to build strong relationships.  Being very athletic and currently completing the advanced training in P90X, he can appreciate the value of massage and its profound health benefits. 

Glenn includes hot/cold therapies using Thermalballs or Icyballs, designed for pain relief.  As a cold therapy, these help with inflammation and numb sore tissues, as well as interrupting pain-spasm reaction between the nerves, decreasing tissue damage, and inducing relaxation.  When used for heat therapy, blood flow is increased and muscle fibers are relaxed while a rolling action gently stretches sore muscles.

Dr. Christopher Carlow is a Doctor of Acupuncture with a Masters Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from Tai Hsuan College now known as World Medicine Institute in Honolulu, Hawai'i.  Dr. Carlow is Licensed by the states of Connecticut and Rhode Island and holds staff privileges at Kent County Hospital in Warwick, Rhode Island.  Dr. Carlow believes health care needs a holistic approach that promotes natural healing without dangerous side effects.
