Megan Marco, Licensed Acupuncturist (CT), Doctor of Acupuncture (RI) is the Founder and Director of Stonington Natural Health Center.  Fondly called Dr. Marco, Dr. Megan, or Megan by her patients and friends, her passion is helping people.  She became interested in Acupuncture due to her background in psychobiology, premed, and the mind-body connection.  She earned a Bachelors Degree in Neuroscience from the prestigious Bowdoin College.  During her junior fall, she studied Ayurveda and culture in Northern India through the School for International Training.  After college, she trained as a Wilderness EMT and was a full-time ski patroller at Sunday River.  Her love of skiing and snowboarding brought her out west. 

 

After four years of training and internship at the distinguished Oregon College of Oriental Medicine, she earned a Masters in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.  She had a successful practice in downtown Portland, Oregon from 2000 - 2004.  To be closer to family, she moved back east. 

 

December 1st, 2005, Dr. Marco opened Stonington Natural Health Center and brings her healing expertise to us.  She continues to get training from near and far to expand her knowledge and skills for her patients.

 

With Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, Dr. Marco will help you initiate and speed up the healing process so that you can heal and reduce pain, inflammation, and stress. Patients receive relief for a variety of health concerns including pain, stress, hypertension, insomnia, digestion, PMS, fertility, menopause, neurological problems, and sports and other injuries. 

 

Dr. Marco firmly believes that everyone benefits from Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine as Acupuncture brings balance to the body, and all symptoms are signs of imbalance in the body.   Acupuncture reminds the body how to heal itself.  Most importantly, you do not need to "have anything wrong" to benefit from the healing benefits of Acupuncture as it rejuvenates and revitalizes your whole body.  In addition, she loves treating the entire family -- men, women, elders, teenagers, children, and babies.

 

With extensive training in Acupuncture, herbs, pain relief, fertility, and neurological problems, Dr. Marco especially enjoys helping people with their health goals. She has advanced training in fertility, advanced training in fertility with Lyn Swirda LAc, herbal studies with Dr. Huang Huang in Nanjing China, NeuroAcupuncture with Drs. Linda and Jason Hao in Albuquerque, and extensive training in Dr. Richard Tan's Balance Method of Acupuncture.  Her passion is giving you the highest quality and effectiveness of care.  She is looking forward to helping your friends, family, and you.
